Democracy! That is what everyone wants, right? Why are words like politics and democracy then increasingly spoken with a sour face? What is wrong with democracy?
Its advantages are great, but not self-evident. Threats are lurking. Quick-fix politicians with simple solutions for complicated problems. But we also have to look in the mirror. Increasingly, we shout: I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW! But that is not how politics was conceived or intended. Our democracy is not perfect. But let us not take the slippery path of anti-politics. Let us remain involved.
This lecture-performance is not a new truth, but a necessary reminder. Sometimes it is useful to repeat something to be able to look at it anew.
