Wintercircus: guided tours

Discover the building, from the basement to the roof terrace! In the 19th century, the tendency in cities was to build buildings for relaxation. In Ghent too, the ‘Nieuw Cirkus’ was erected in 1885. In 1920, a fire almost completely destroyed the building. Three years later, the reconstruction followed. In de Tweede Wereldoorlog brought Ghislain Mahy his garage under it. He completely converted the building, the circus interior was unfortunately lost. The garage remained until 1978. After that, the Wintercircus served for 20 years as a depot for oldtimers. In 2024, the Wintercircus opened its doors again, after 5 years of intensive renovating. It is now a home for innovative startups and scaleups. In the basement is a concert hall. Our guides took you on a discovery throughout the whole building! Accessibility: The tour is accessible to wheelchair users.
