I WAS A STRANGER

A doctor, a soldier, a human smuggler, a father, and a captain. Each with their own story, each on their own journey. Their paths cross when they have to leave everything behind due to the Syrian civil war, in a desperate search for safety and a place where they can belong. Set in four countries and inspired by true stories from the front line of the refugee crisis, this poignant story – featuring, among others, Omar (Intouchables) Sy – shows the heartbreaking pain, the constant danger, and the vulnerable beauty of people who, despite everything, find the courage to start over, even when the world has nothing left to offer them.
