Family performance: Tumbler (6-18 months)

Family performance ‘Tuimelaar’ (6 – 18 months) Frisse Oren ‘Tuimelaar’ is a sensitive, musical experience for children from 6 to 18 months and their (grand)parents. Following the successful production ‘Wiegeling’ with an Arabic lullaby as a starting point, the music of the Taiwanese percussionist Yung-Tuan Ku is the source of inspiration for the new production ‘Tuimelaar’. The compositions of Yung-Tuan have their roots in Asia. They stimulate and make you think back with a smile to beautiful places where you might never have been. Frisse Oren goes on a voyage of discovery in the wonderful world of gravity together with the young children: a musical ode to rolling, tumbling, rolling around, tipping, falling, and bouncing back. In a soft, sheltered environment, a percussionist, a clarinetist, and a trumpeter enter into a musical encounter with each other, the young audience, and the (grand)parents. ‘Tuimelaar’ has both an intimate and an open character: tumbling for a moment is allowed, and staying to sway and doze for half an hour is also fine. ‘Tuimelaar’ is performed by Rudi van Hest (clarinets), Yung-Tuan Ku (percussion and vocals), and Sjoerd Pauw (trumpet and flugelhorn).
