At the neighbors': Four seasons changed

Celebrate the seasons with BRYGGEN & Michiel Vandevelde - dance meets Vivaldi and Richter. Just as the seasons in nature change and return, new interpretations can transform classic works. In this concert choreography, the boundaries between dance and music blur. BRYGGEN and choreographer Michiel Vandevelde add an extra layer to the rich texture that Max Richter introduced in his reinterpretation of Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons (2012). Richter's score is played from memory by the musicians of BRYGGEN, led by violinist Jolente De Maeyer, who move across the stage in continuous patterns. A solo dancer weaves between them, sometimes in contradiction to the music, sometimes reinforcing it. Each season is linked to a specific choreographic tradition: spring is inspired by Isadora Duncan, summer by Anna Halprin, autumn by Pina Bausch, and winter by Trisha Brown. By rethinking their stage presence, moving freely through the space, and playing from memory, both the dancer and the musicians challenge the conventions of the concert format.
