Thematic Day In Memoriam Benjamin Britten: Flow My Tears

Lachrymae (Tears) is a rarely performed, but beautifully intimist masterpiece by Benjamin Britten, full of color and mystery. As often happened, Britten let himself be inspired by music of distant predecessors, in this case John Dowland (1563-1626). To make the listening experience of Lachrymae as intense as possible, the original Dowland songs are, as it were, draped around Britten's work. For the performance, the students of the SLAC and the professionals of Boho Strings Antwerp join forces. (part of Theme Day 2026)
