Koen Cosaert is the director of the Koninklijke Beiaardschool “Jef Denyn” in Mechelen, the oldest and largest institute for carillon art in the world. As part of the Belgian carillon culture, the Carillon School enjoys UNESCO recognition as a ‘best safeguarding practice’ for intangible cultural heritage. He has been a teacher of campanology, harmony, and carillon playing at this school and its department in Roeselare since 1987. He has been the city carillonneur in Kortrijk since 2010 and exercises the same function in Izegem, Harelbeke, and Roeselare. He has made concert tours throughout Europe, the Verenigde Staten, Canada, Japan, and Australia.
