Learning together and meeting seniors at community center De Linde

The city of Ninove invites all people over 65 to a series of free meeting moments in the sub-municipalities . During these relaxed afternoons, you will meet other seniors from your neighborhood and work on your digital skills at your own pace. No school-like lessons or complicated explanations, but rather learning at your own pace, trying things out, and asking questions. More and more things are happening online. That is convenient, but can sometimes feel uncertain. That is why we show step-by-step how itsme works and what you can use it for, in clear language and without difficult words. If you want to install itsme on your smartphone, we will help you with that. Do you already have it, but are you unsure if everything is set up correctly? You are welcome then too. During each meeting, volunteers are present to personally guide you when something doesn't work or you get stuck. You don't need to know or be able to do anything beforehand: we take our time and you are not alone. Besides itsme, you will also receive practical tips on how to stay safe online. You will learn how to recognize suspicious messages, what to look out for in emails or text messages, and how to use the internet with peace of mind. There is also room to get to know other people, share experiences, and have a nice chat. We provide free coffee and a pastry. The meeting moments always take place from 2 PM to 4 PM. We work with a limited number of participants so that everyone receives sufficient guidance. You can participate in any community center, even if you don't live there. Bring your smartphone, identity card, and the PIN code of your ID. More and more things are done online, such as banking, administration at the municipality, or consulting your pension.
