Beethoven has been dead for 200 years.
Leve Beethoven!
Even though he was already dead before he was born
but that is…
well, his life, a battle against death.
Peeters, De Schrijver, Miller, and Van den Brande breathe life back into the classical composer.
Although he didn't like that. Classical. He was more modern. Back then. Revolutionary. But what was modern yesterday is from yesterday today. Fortunately, he will still be there tomorrow, because Beethoven remains beautiful. Even though he has been dead for so long.
‘Most people are afraid to be human
They walk around their whole lives with the same face
That is why there is art
In it, we become truly human
In art
and war
The masks fall off’
A man who stubbornly tries to be his authentic self, desperately searching for beauty and meaning. A tormented spirit, a big heart, a sick body.
‘I am satisfied with almost nothing,
I find it all bad.
That is why I think I am
so good.’
