Ask the water - Lotte Dodion & Birsen Uçar

In this performance, poet-performer Lotte Dodion and musician-writer Birsen Uçar provide words and sounds to strengthen our hope. Lotte brings poems from her latest collection Verzachtende Omstandigheden and invites us to enter into conversation with the North Sea. Birsen brings text and music from the liquid universe of her band Hydrogen Sea. Lotte Dodion likes to set up participatory poetry projects that connect people. A selection of her work has been translated into English, German, Turkish, and Arabic. In 2022-2023, she was the city poet of Antwerp. Birsen Uçar sings and writes song lyrics for, among others, Selah Sue and Geike. She investigates how humans have disconnected from nature and pleads for a better feeling with more-than-human beings.
