Five top musicians bring a powerful ode to Arno Hintjens and his impressive repertoire. From T.C. Matic to his solo work: classics like ‘Putain Putain’ and ‘Les yeux de ma mère’ ensure an intense evening full of rock, poetry, and rebellion. A rock-solid tribute.
Oh la la la! C'est magnifique! A tribute to Arno!
LA FETE D’ARNO brings a ‘best of’ from the early days of T.C. Matic to Arno's last album. A driven Belgian band with Jan De Ruyter (vocals – with the timbre of Arno!), Dave Wyns (guitar), Marcus Weymare (drums), Carlo Van Belleghem (bass), and Jan Samyn (piano). They have already performed at various festivals (Izegem, Basel, Poperinge ...) and in various cultural centers over the past summers.
Arno Hintjens (1949-2022) was an icon of Belgian rock!
Arno started with Paul Decoutere as Tjens Couter; the breakthrough, however, came with the new band T.C. Matic (without Paul). The major festival stages and clubs worldwide were conquered by Arno, together with his musicians Jean-Marie Aerts, Serge Feys … It yielded a stream of hits, such as ‘O La La La’, ‘Putain Putain’, ‘Que Pasa’, ‘Le Java’, ‘Les filles du bord de mer’, ‘Les yeux de ma mère’ …
Arno then continued solo, sang in English and French, and also with his side projects such as Charles et Les Lulus and Charles and the White Blues Connection he managed to entertain his many fans until the very last breath!
