A whirlwind family day in which we return to the Middle Ages with a time machine. At this big party, you will experience an unforgettable day among the old wall ruins of the Dunes Abbey. Program 2026 (more names to be confirmed) Middeleeuws Collectief 'Via Nobilis' MIDDLE AGES, HERE WE COME! – This collective brings you back to the Middle Ages with both feet! Get to know various crafts through demonstrations and entertainment. There are also folk games and you can try archery! For young and old! *Location: lawn near the museum *Continuous Birds of prey demonstrations by Valkerij Dominique AIR ACROBATS IN THE SPOTLIGHT - Various birds of prey show their hunting instinct. These loyal animals were used for hunting centuries ago. Spectacle guaranteed! * Location: abbey site, courtyard garden *Times: two times during the festival, to be confirmed *Duration: 45 min. Medieval course by Scouts Zeedustra Koksijde READY? ON YOUR HORSE! START! - Scouts Zeedustra Koksijde is back at Party in the Abbey, and how! They have devised a new challenging course for young and old. And yes, the hobby horses are also present. *Location: children's village *Continuous Spinners of the Noordmeulen, De Papieroloog, woodworker Antoine Pouleyn, basket weaver Lies Snauwaert AAAAH! THAT'S HOW IT WAS IN THE MIDDLE AGES! - These craftsmen still use the techniques today that were already used in the Middle Ages. Spinners of the Noordmeulen - From fleece to the ball of wool, washing, carding, spinning in all possible techniques, from spinning wheel to drop spindle, vegetable dyeing ... Weaving, knitting, crocheting, embroidering, weaving, and much more! De Papieroloog - Danny Mattijs is a visual artist who gives texts and classical writing arts a unique form. Handmade and regular paper are the ideal basis for his drawn and written artworks. He also works on homemade parchment, which is truly not evident and unique. He also makes most of his inks himself according to authentic recipes. Woodworker - Antoine Poulain still works wood in the traditional way. He makes, among other things, Flemish folk games and wooden sculptures. Basket weaver - Lies Snauwaert makes beautiful hand-woven baskets with natural materials. The Guapa carousel awaits you! The horse blows, the mist clears, the music starts playing… and we're off! In full gallop.
