In the film Mufasa-De Leeuwenkoning, Rafiki tells the legend of Mufasa to the young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala. He is supported in his own quirky way by Timon and Pumbaa. The story is told in flashbacks and introduces Mufasa as an orphan. He is lost, lonely, and alone... until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka, the heir to a royal bloodline. This chance encounter sets in motion a great adventure for two outcasts looking for their destiny.
