Back to the Golden Sixties

During the golden sixties, prosperity in our country increased spectacularly. People bought a car, a television, and all kinds of household appliances. A telephone arrived in the house, and a transistor radio. Homes got a bathroom, instead of the zinc tub, and a toilet inside, with real toilet paper. Daily life changed completely. In this performance, we squeeze ourselves into a 2CV and travel back to that time. Historian and storyteller Korneel De Rynck, author of the bestseller De golden sixties, speaks with wonder and humor about how life changed between 1958, the year of the Expo, and 1973, the year of the oil crisis. Also with numerous photos, television images, and music fragments. But there is also live music. A famous ad-hoc band, with Wouter Berlaen (Berlaen, Raymond van het Groenewoud), Esther Lybeert (The Antler King, Laïs), and Maarten Flamand (The Antler King), throws sixties hits into the hall at just the right moments. And so you get a mix of word, image, and music. Nostalgic for those who experienced the 60s and 70s, surprising for those who were born later. Or as Nonkel Bob sang: come and take a look. With: Korneel De Rynck – Wouter Berlaen – Esther Lybeert – Maarten Flamand
