Discover a place where time is no longer in charge. Hang your haste on a hook, store your worries for tomorrow. Open the gates of your ears and enter a world, from long ago, and yet of now. Hear the rhythm and the melody of old and new stories. People have always told each other stories. To understand the world, not to forget, and to pass on life lessons. Aminata Demba follows in the footsteps of the West African storytellers – the griots. She slips into the skin of a child with a head full of small and big questions. Her search for answers becomes an adventure in which she also discovers herself. Come along on a journey to the depths of time. A journey full of wondrous encounters: a stressed hippopotamus and an itchy elephant, hospitable aunts, a lovesick billy goat, an unreliable crow... A musical trip, with nothing in your pocket but a handful of courage and zest for life. Amadou is a hymn to the art of storytelling and the hypnotic music that goes with it. This tale is inspired by the work of the Malian author Amadou Hampâté Bâ who collected and wrote down the mythical, oral stories from the collective memory of the Fula people.
