Layla Önlen | Bismillah | Theater op de Markt 2026

In 'Bismillah', Layla Önlen opens a box with one hundred meters of embroidered ribbon. While the ribbon unrolls, she weaves her personal history with that of other women. Together with the audience, the story grows in text, movement, and sound. An intimate, sensory performance about memory, closeness, and carrying a story together. About the maker Layla Önlen (1978) is an interdisciplinary theater maker and performer. She graduated in 2023 from the Toneelacademie Maastricht and is currently connected to talent development platform Via Zuid and Platform 0090. In her work, she translates personal history into universal experiences and investigates how memory, body, and community activate each other. Layla, performans sırasında , sizi bu kurdeleyi, yani bir yaşam çizgisini, birlikte açmaya davet ediyor. Metin, hareket, ses ve katılımcıların birleştiği duyusal bir deneyim ortaya çıkıyor.
