What began as a chance encounter grew into a natural artistic kinship. Three musicians, rooted in diverse worlds - historical performance practice, contemporary music, and experimental performance - find each other in a shared sensitivity for sound, time, and space.
In Glass in clair-obscur, a fourth presence is added: light. Adrien Lucca manipulates the light spectrum via self-developed instruments and thus creates a subtle shift in how color and space are experienced.
The work of Philip Glass, who turns 90 on Jan 31, 27, forms the starting point. Repetition does not mean stagnation, but a continuous process of transformation. George van Dam (Ictus, Ensemble Musiques Nouvelles, Rosas, Ultima Vez), Simon Lenski (DAAU, Damaged Goods / Meg Stuart, Wunderbaum, Needcompany), and Claire Chevallier (with Lisbeth Gruwez in Piano works Debussy in CCHA in 2024) create a field of tension around it with other forms of minimalism and related musical languages.
Glass in clair-obscur invites a slowed-down, attentive form of listening - an experience in which perception itself becomes the subject.
