A grim alley in the slum of a big city. The back door of a restaurant. Beats from an underground club. Neon light, frying fat, urine. In 'Steegske', the audience watches what usually remains hidden. In the shadows, grotesque characters appear: strange and recognizable, raw and vulnerable. Febe Coysman and Lena Majri make dark, cinematic location theater full of humor, compassion, and tragedy. About the creators Febe Coysman and Lena Majri got to know each other during their studies at the RITCS in Brussels, where Febe followed the directing program and Lena the acting program. 'Steegske' is their fourth production. Their bachelor thesis 'Once Upon a Time' was selected in 2023 for Theater Aan Zee and their graduation performance 'a Turtle's Tale' for Love At First Sight. In 2023 they made 'Baked Beans' together. After two indoor performances, they return with 'Steegske' to their first great love: location theater. Once again, they create a cinematic world, populated by grotesque characters. With humor and compassion, they dismantle their tragedy and do not shy away from the big questions and feelings. More info
