Homage to Yasmine

Yasmine, known as the singer with a deep love for poetic lyrics, chose a more personal musical direction halfway through her career. Inspired by greats like Daniel Lanois, Joni Mitchell, and Leonard Cohen, she brought a new sound with Portfolio . This album – with the successful singles Ik Was Zo Graag Bij Jou Gebleven , Ik Tover Jou , Diep In Mij , and Nooit Nog een Andere – earned her her first gold record. The subsequent album Prêt-à-Porter also went gold thanks to hits like Porselein and Altijd Weer Tikt De Klok . In 2004, Yasmine celebrated ten years on stage with the compilation album Liefde en Liedjes (Love and Songs) and a tour of the same name. Her last album, Licht Ontvlambaar (2006), was a powerful and personal ode to storytellers like Leonard Cohen. When Toen Yasmine left us in 2009, the music world lost an icon. In this special tribute, Evi Hanssen , Andrea Croonenberghs , and Amaryllis Temmerman bring a selection of Yasmine's most beautiful songs to life. Together with a live band led by Jo Mahieu, they relive Yasmine's musical journey, from her early dance hits to the poetic masterpieces that made her so beloved.
