‘Altijd Aan’ is a recognizable performance about wanting to live, wanting to experience everything, being a lot for others, but still just a little too little for yourself. How do I become normal? In his new comedy show, Pieter Verelst gives an honest look at what is really going on in that absurd head of his. Go in search of his ‘off-switch’ in that wild, witty jungle of his: his brain! Pieter Verelst takes his first comedy steps in the Netherlands. In 2014, with his debut show ‘Mijn Broer en Ik’, he immediately wins the Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival. Two years later he also wins Cameretten, in the wake of Theo Maassen and Hans Teeuwen. This opens the big gate to Flanders, where he can be seen as one of the eight promises in ‘Voor De Leeuwen’ on VRT 1. With his second comedy show ‘Amai’ and the successor ‘Ten Aarzel’, he puts himself on the map for good as a comedian.
