Catchy lyrics, a touch of Kings of Leon in your sound, and Irish charm in abundance: that is the recipe of Inhaler – responsible for the soundtrack of Dertigers, and the kind of stadium rock to shout along to very loudly.
Known to the majority of the Flemish public for “These are the days…” that echoes over the rolling hills of the Groene Rand van Brussel in Dertigers, but so much more than that. Inhaler is an indie rock band from Dublin that has been playing together since their school days. Singer and guitarist Elijah Hewson, bassist Robert Keating, guitarist Josh Jenkinson, and drummer Ryan McMahon founded the band in 2012 in the St Andrews College. What was originally just meant to be a school project, they officially christened Inhaler in 2015.
Debut album ‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’ appeared in 2021 and catapulted them to large venues and festivals, including a passage at Glastonbury Festival and support shows for Kings of Leon. In 2023, ‘Cuts & Bruises’ followed, good for a number 1 position in Ireland, and in early 2025 they released their third album ‘Open Wide’. With every record, their sound grows from a fresh promise to a permanent fixture within indie rock. They have become indispensable in arenas and on full festival fields, and we are as happy as lovesick teenagers that they will soon be coming to fill De Vooruit with their hopeful guitar riffs and melancholic vocals.
