Arcana of our queer parenthoods

Her sensitive look questions what social categorizations shape, while affirming that they do not define the totality of our family identities. A tool of care and guidance for the artist, the Tarot connects here individual experiences to collective struggles. Each of the cards embodies the facets of these multiple parenthoods: mental load, exhaustion, and loneliness, but also love, adelphity, transmission, and freedom to make family outside cis-hetero-patriarchal, ableist, or capitalist norms. These works invoke concrete daily situations that make our experiences resonate with societal structures. Thanks to digital collage and hand-painted textures, Ambrose creates spaces where it is possible to exist fully and to rest. Through this exhibition, she affirms artistic creation as a tool of resistance and transformation, opening a horizon of hope for a more just world.
