ECHO international competition Jehan Crinon 2026 Sint-Michiels & S Jan de Doperkerk, Leuven

Leuven welcomes the first international Jehan Crinon Orgelwedstrijd , in collaboration with Leuven Orgelstad and ECHO. The competition takes place on 2 exceptional instruments: the historic Goltfuss organ (1692) and the Contius 'Bach organ' (2022). A total of 38 young organists from all over the world have applied, of whom 12 have been selected to participate in 3 rounds, with repertoire ranging from the 16th century to today. Technique, musical vision, and programmatic coherence are central to the competition. The international jury consists of Bernard Foccroulle (chair), Juan-Maria Pedrero, Bine Bryndorf, Luc Ponet and Aurore Baal. July 9 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM – First round competition, Sint Jan de Doperkerk 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM – First round competition, Sint-Michiels Vredeskerk 8:00 PM – Concert by Juan-Maria Pedrero & Bernard Foccroulle, Sint Jan de Doperkerk . July 10, 8:00 PM – Concert by Bine Bryndorf, Aurore Baal & Luc Ponet, Sint-Michiels Vredeskerk July 11, 5:30 PM – Final competition & announcement of the winners and presentation of the audience award. Sint-Michiels Vredeskerk July 12, 11:45 AM – Peace Mass ( Sint-Michiels ) In collaboration with the parish, as a conclusion to the competition weekend.
