This large nature reserve, located in the border area of Belgium (Limburg) and the Netherlands (North Brabant), includes a multitude of plant and animal species. Unique are the different types of landscapes, including the last remnants of the large heath plains from the 18th century. In August, the heath is in bloom, so that will be enjoyable. Our walks are accompanied by an experienced local guide and the day begins with an audiovisual presentation in the visitor center.
Start: 8:00 parking De Warande (Warandelaan, Wetteren)
We drive cost-sharing to Neerpelt. Anyone riding with another driver pays € 15 (in cash) on the spot to the person in charge. The money is then divided equally among the drivers who take extra passengers. This way, every driver gets the same amount, regardless of the number of extra passengers riding along.
Return: around 19:00
Bring: sturdy walking shoes, possibly binoculars, packed lunch (drinks can be purchased on site), appropriate clothing and water for the road in warm weather
Information: Henri Keirsebelik (henrilut@skynet.be / 0475 34 94 37)
Let us know in advance if you can drive yourself, and how many extra passengers can fit. This way we can organize carpooling to save the environment.
