Art & Roots in the Woods 2026

On September 5 and 6, the popular Art & Roots in the Woods returns to the beautiful Meetshovenbos. This two-day family festival has grown into a fixture in the region and brings a unique mix of art, music, and nature. In collaboration with the non-profit organization Culture in Nature, the Intergemeentelijke Culturele Samenwerking (IGCS), and the Agentschap Natuur and Forest, the forest is transformed into an atmospheric place full of experience. What can you expect? A diverse music program with roots, folk, acoustic, and world music. Art installations and performances spread throughout the forest. Workshops, children's entertainment, and family activities. Local and sustainable food and drink stands (regional beers!). Pure forest experience in a unique, green setting. For young and old, dreamers, thinkers, and doers. Bereikbaarheid Je can easily reach Arts & Roots in the Woods by bike or on foot. Are you coming by car anyway? You can park for free in the large parking lot at the back of the station (Nieuwlandlaan). From here it is about a 1.3 km walk via the Nieuwlandlaan to the Betekomsesteenweg and cross at the Wit Toreke. Do not park in the parking lot of restaurant the Wit Toreke, this is reserved for their customers.
