Andries Boone + DYAD

Andries Boone is one of the most innovative composers in Flemish folk. Both with the mandolin quartet MANdolinMAN and solo, he has made acclaimed albums that transcend the boundaries of folk. On his new album ‘Rhagium Inquisitor’, he once again blurs the boundaries between tradition and innovation. You hear influences from Scandinavian and Breton folk music, but also from electropop and dance music from the 80s and 90s. He fuses traditional instruments such as octave violin, mandolin, nyckelharpa, and baroque musette with rock and electronics. The result is an immersive sound universe, brought live by an excellent sextet. Beforehand, you will get to know DYAD, the musical project of Didier Laloy and the talented French musician Adrien Tyberghein. With diatonic accordion and double bass, they bring music that meanders between world music, jazz, classical, and rock.
