Growfunding Bazaar

On June 5, Growfunding gets Brussels moving. Not with a gala or speeches, but with energy, a simmering pot, and dancing feet. The most inspiring projects come from the ground up, and this fundraiser is designed to support them. You’ll be able to choose from a range of concrete activities and encounters, where simply taking part already becomes a way of contributing Brussels is buzzing with local initiatives: neighbourhood kitchens, youth-led projects, cultural spaces, social entrepreneurs. They are driven by passion, ingenuity and resilience, even when the socio-economic and political context does not always give them the recognition they deserve. They deserve a boost — and you can be the one to provide it. Our Bazaar will not be a boring fundraising campaign, nor a guilt-driven exercise, nor a series of forced applause in front of a PowerPoint. We believe solidarity brings energy, creates connection, and can simply be an enjoyable moment. Concretely, on Friday 5 June, we are offering three moments to make a difference together around the House of Growfunding, at 178 Boulevard Anspach. We are turning public space into a place for play and encounter, where everyone can take part at their own pace in the day’s programme: Morning (7:00–8:30): Running 5 or 10 km with Atlemo + breakfast Put on your running shoes and wake up your body for a good cause. Every step counts — literally. Afternoon (14:00–16:00): Cooking together with Cultureghem We roll up our sleeves, chop, stir and taste together. The table becomes a space for meeting and discussion about healthy and solidarity-based food in Brussels. A mix of cooking workshop and conversation tables. Evening (16:00–22:00): Eating, listening and dancing together We are hosting a Block Party: a neighbourhood celebration open to everyone, curated by Streamlines. Come eat, come dance, come try your luck. Participating already means contributing. The proceeds of the day will go directly to these three socio-cultural initiatives that make a difference in our city: Atlemo: a Brussels athletics club that aims to be accessible to all young people and adults in the neighbourhood, in a simple and inclusive way. Ralliement des fourchettes: a network of social restaurants that fights food insecurity and defends access to quality food for everyone as a fundamental right. Bulle asbl: Bulle is a mobile and solidarity-based laundry service. In Brussels, it washes the clothes of people in precarious situations while creating a space for meeting, exchange and support.
