Music club – Augustijn & An-Sofie Noppe (host: Meermens)

MuziekcluB guarantees an intimate music evening in which discovering, meeting, and listening are central. Two artists – an emerging and an established name – share the stage and each bring a full 45-minute set. Musical host Meermens ensures a warm welcome and guides the evening in the right direction. Augustijn De son of Willem Vermandere continues singing where his father stopped – with full gusto and in West Flemish. His songs balance between pop and kleinkunst: narrative, honest, and with a good dose of (self-)relativization. He carries his father's advice: ‘It is not or, it is and.’ Introspective and exuberant, playful and personal, funny and serious – in his set, everything gets a place. An-Sofie Noppe An-Sofie broke through as the winner of De Muziekklas and grew into a strong voice within Dutch-language pop. With support from, among others, Johan Verminnen and collaborations with Wouter Berlaen and Ward Snauwaert, she further sharpened her own sound. Today she sounds more like herself than ever: rooted in West-Vlaamse Watou and singing in her own dialect. Her music is honest and straight from the heart.
