WASDA is laundry. A lot of laundry. Mountains of laundry. Seas of laundry. WASDA is laundry lines, washing machines, laundry baskets, clothespins, laundry detergent, and wind. WASDA is a lot of clothes, clothes that no longer participate, stand on the sidelines, are inappropriate, are no longer worn. But… what is that? Is that shirt moving? Did those pants just sigh? Those clothes are alive, or what?! WASDA, that’s two socks having an argument that never want to see each other again, that’s a tie with the giggles, a dancing sweater, a shirt that is sad because no one cares about him anymore. Because clothes are like people, they can be in a bad mood, dance, be happy or scared or angry. People are like clothes, we all want to be worn… WASDA is participating, getting to work, off your chair, onto the floor. Smoothing out wrinkles, blowing wind, softening laundry, comforting clothes, taking care. WASDA is together, for each other. WASDA happens to us. WHAT IS THAT? THAT IS QUITE SOMETHING. WASDA is an ode to the imagination of the toddler and a plea for a sustainable society in which people take care of each other. WASDA is a danceable, low-language performance full of acrobatics, movement, humor, and poetry. Emma and Ehren are dancers who play along, Stijn is an actor, who moves along. Together they are pleasantly crazy, infectious, poetic, funny, and moving. WASDA does not want to be just a performance you watch, but also an experience that happens to you. Not only for the performers, but also for the children and their families. A shared moment of play, care, chaos, and laundry. A performance about together, we, us, all, everyone.
