Snack-Tap – The Great Leave

From July 10 up to and including August 7, 2026, Leuven will once again turn into one big open-air festival during Het Groot Verlof. The historic squares form the backdrop for a month full of music, conviviality, culinary discoveries and free activities for young and old. The first Sunday of August? That has been marked in the agenda of every gourmet in Leuven for years! Tijdens Hapje-Tapje serves the Leuven catering industry absolute toppers. In the mood for a tasty journey of discovery through the city? In and around the Muntstraat In de Muntstraat, Tiensestraat, Naamsestraat and on the Hogeschoolplein you will find almost 60 food and drink stands. Bekende Leuvense addresses and surprising newcomers serve their own specialties and flavors there. From juicy burgers to refined sushi, from fresh fruit punch to festive champagne cocktails: together good for almost 300 tastings between € 3 and € 8. Choosing will be difficult! Oude Markt Op de Oude Markt in Leuven is all about beer during Hapje-Tapje. Cafés serve more than 100 specialty beers, carefully selected for the festival. 15:00: The legendary bartenders' race starts – bartenders race with a tray over the course. 19:00: DJ duo Partyshakerz warms up the audience. 21:00: Les Truttes, the iconic cover band, takes over with humor, spectacle and an unforgettable show.
