An age-old building, hidden behind a shop facade De Noordzandstraat has been one of the important trade routes since the very beginning of Bruges, with the Noordzandpoort first and later the Smedenpoort as the boundary of the urban area. With the Prinsenhof and the Ontvangersstraat around the corner, this area is one of trade and administration. The front house has a fieldstone cellar from the late 12th or 13th century. The domain continued to grow, especially from the 15th century onwards. Various prominent families moved in and adapted the buildings to their needs. Eventually, the house was divided into 3 separate residences with new partition walls and a makeover of the facades. Behind those facades, old structures and interiors have been preserved. Practical info: During the tour of this monument, you will walk through different floors, which involves taking stairs. Visit with a guide, by reservation. Reservations start on Wednesday, September 2, at 7:30 PM, via the link next to this. Also open for visits on Saturday, September 12, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Accessibility: Several stairs are used to visit the building.
