Sunday, July 5: Opening act - El Niño El Niño is an eleven-piece Antwerp band that breathes new life into traditional Latin music with a unique, Dutch-language twist. What started as a dream of two percussionists grew into a musical storm full of percussion, brass, and soul. Expect no polite covers, but a sizzling ode to Latin greats, translated into recognizable Antwerp stories that are guaranteed to get you moving. Main program - Hector Guerra (Bolivia) Héctor Guerra: a leading name in mestizo hip-hop and electronic cumbia. Hector commutes between Bolivia, Mexico, and Spain, and you can hear that in his music. A fiery mix of rhythm, roots, and city: music that you don't just hear, but also feel. Expect a solid Latino party, with fast raps and lots of dancing fun. Sunday, July 12: Opening act - Seba Colson Jazz Trio Seba Colson studied jazz trumpet at the Conservatorium van Antwerpen and Maastricht with various teachers including Jarmo Hoogendijk, Kurt Van Herck, Nico Schepers, Carlo Nardozza, and Rob Bruynen. He has been active as a professional musician for a number of years and is bandleader of Unfinished Business, the Fela Kuti Celebration band, and the Seba Colson Quintet. In addition, he is also a permanent member of Lucid Lucia, Hnita Bigband, Nana Osei, Nuff Said, Jazbyssinia, and The Very Bigband and has shared the stage with, among others, John Clayton, Joe Bowie (Defunkt), Chris Potter, Bert Joris, Jef Neve, Gregory Hutchinson, Frank Vaganée, Zap Mama, Manou Gallo, Amir Sulaiman, K.ZIA, Selah Sue, … Jazz has been his greatest passion for ten years and for this occasion he will come to play a number of his favorite jazz standards in a trio. Welcome! Main program - Saad Tiouly (Morocco) Saad Tiouly is one of the most remarkable new voices within the contemporary Gnawa scene in Morocco. Live, he drags you into a musical trip of hypnotic guembri grooves, rhythms, and an almost ritual energy. His concerts are not ordinary shows, but immersive experiences that completely submerge you. Saad is an artist in many fields: he builds his own guembris (the traditional Gnawa guitar) and designs his stage costumes. Sometimes he is even called the Jimi Hendrix of Gnawa. Sunday, July 19: Opening act - Elko Blijweert Solo Since the mid-90s, Elko Blijweert has played his guitar on international stages with, among others, Dead Man Ray, Kiss My Jazz, and Front 242. Later, he was often active as a composer and musician with various theater makers and choreographers such as Wim Vandekeybus, Froefroe, and Voetvolk. In recent years, he has focused more on everything related to Heaven Hotel, the record label he runs with his friend and mentor Rudy Trouvé. A part of all this baggage gathered over the years goes on a trip every now and then. On July 19, a stop is made at the Krugerplein and the audience is invited to share in Elko's versatile universe of both sharp restlessness and suggestive lyricism. Main program - Zerzura (Egypt/France) Zerzura is the project that emerged from the meeting between the Egyptian singer Hend Elrawy and the French band Mazalda. Inspired by the legend of Zerzura, or “the oasis of the little birds,” which refers to a mythical city from the Sahara. The result is an energetic and playful mix of North African influences, desert grooves, and electronic, danceable sounds. Zerzura is an invitation to movement: a hypnotic, rhythmic journey. Sunday, July 26: Opening act - Delay Brothers Delay Brothers is the band that was formed in 2024 around the music of William Delay, pseudonym for Borgerhout musician Johan Verhaegen. The band likes to play with conventions from rock, jazz, and pop and loves experiment and improvisation. The starting point is the songs and the often dark lyrics, but they serve more as poetic landscapes than as tightly outlined songs. Delay Brothers play refined when they can, but hard when they must! Sitting at the table for coffee: Miles Davis? Lanegan? Bombino? Unknown Mortal Orchestra? Motorpsycho? Main program - Lívia Mattos (Brazil) Born in Salvador-Bahia (northeast Brazil), Lívia Mattos is an accordionist, singer, and songwriter with her own playful style. She builds her music around the accordion and a mix of Brazilian roots, poetic influences, and unexpected rhythms. With her virtuoso trio (drums and tuba), she tells cheerful stories and brings the Brazilian sun to Antwerp. Exuberant, theatrical, and very funny. Watch out!
