Moulin Rouge!

Christian, an idealistic young writer, arrives in Montmartre to pursue his dreams. He becomes involved with a group of bohemians who want to create a revolutionary theater show in the famous Moulin Rouge nightclub. There, Christian falls in love with Satine, the club's shining star and the most coveted courtesan in Paris. Specifically for Cinema ZED Leuven De, the screening on 22/6 will be preceded by a tantalizing, impressive Burlesque act themed around the film, provided by Antwerp Burlesque Academy. Commentaar Baz Luhrmann creates a visually overwhelming spectacle full of modern pop songs (from "Your Song" to "Roxanne") in a historical setting. The film is an opulent ode to love, art, and sacrifice, with Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor shining in the lead roles.
