CORONER

Coroner was formed in 1985 in Zurich and grew into one of the most influential and technically progressive thrash bands. Met Ron Broder (bass & vocals), Tommy Vetterli (guitar) and Marky Edelmann (drums), the trio released five groundbreaking albums between 1987 and 1994, which are still considered cult classics today. Their sound balances between speed, precision and complexity, with influences from classical music, jazz and industrial. It is not for nothing that they are often described as “the Rush of thrash metal” and, together with bands like Voivod and Watchtower, they are among the pioneers of technical and progressive thrash. After their split in 1996, the band returned in 2011, not to repeat but to build further. Since then, they have played select shows and festivals worldwide, including Hellfest and Maryland Deathfest. In 2025, after more than thirty years, they released new work via Century Media. No nostalgia, but a powerful and contemporary record that was internationally acclaimed. With this new chapter, they are back on stages worldwide.
