The bastards of the counts of Leuven and the dukes of Brabant

Jean Paul De Cloet of the Geschiedkundige Heruitgeverij non-profit organization previously gave a presentation at FV region Aalst about the bastards of the Counts of Flanders. Because old Land van Aalst has many historical ties with Brabant, many of the members from our region sooner or later come to the realization that they have ancestors in nearby Brabant. The chance that someone will find a connection there with noble families, via a bastard child, is certainly present.  It is therefore interesting to learn more about the different bastard lines that start with the Dukes of Brabant or their predecessors, the Counts of Leuven.
