Andries Boone has been a pivotal figure in Flemish folk for fifteen years. After his acclaimed solo trilogy, he pushes the boundaries again in September 2026 with his new album Rhagium Inquisitor.
The title, referring to the grey longhorn beetle, symbolizes a layered sound universe. Boone effortlessly fuses Scandinavian and Breton traditions with 80s synthpop and 90s dance. Together with young talents Marieke Van Ransbeeck and Oscar Beerten, he brings rare instruments such as the nyckelharpa and baroque musette together with raw electronics and modern chamber music.
Rhagium Inquisitor is an immersive trip where tradition and innovation challenge each other. A bold statement from one of the most inventive voices of the moment.
With: Andries Boone (octave violin, mandolin, electric guitar, and synths), Ward Dhoore (acoustic guitar and mandolin), Dominique Vantomme (synths and electronics), and Anouk Sanczuk (violin and nyckelharpa)
