After 13 years of digging and plowing in the Flemish showbiz soil with his own East Flemish dialect songs, the Zulte bard takes on other people's work. On previous tours, BERLAEN already liked to play a cover, and Radio 1 recently picked up ’t Lev’n es keihard (BERLAEN’s reworking of Searching for a heart by Warren Zevon) greedily in A-rotation, all summer long in 2025. Even more of BERLAEN’s love for the American song tradition is covered in the new tour, in the form of adaptations and translations of his personal heroes. But also Zulte reworkings of Lage Landen classics by the hand of Kris De Bruyne, Normaal, Heintje, Ivan Heylen AND Raymond van het Groenewoud – yes, regular employer of BERLAEN as a bassist – who in his sabbatical gives all space to his protégé to finally break through commercially.
