Sunday, July 12: 19:15 - 19:55 TEXT THEATER / AALST DIALECT Gaia is not a mythical creature, but an exhausted woman from around the corner, with bags under her eyes and atopic eczema between her toes. She talks, finally, her voice cracks from exhaustion and her bones break under the weight she has been carrying for centuries. Her son has sucked her dry, neglected, polluted, and belittled her. A mother continues to love her creations, against her better judgment, but when is enough, enough? Gabyken is a humorous monologue about a woman who has carried too much, has been silent for too long, and is now standing up to show that she is far from written off.
