Upshot

Upshot is a Palestinian short film directed by Maha Haj. Somewhere in the future, on a remote farm, Suleiman and Lubna live. They care for their chickens and tend to the olive trees. During dinner, they talk about their five children: Bassel, Oumaya, Hamza, Tarik, and Khaled. One day, a journalist visits to interview them. The film tells a simple story in a sparse yet powerful visual language. A unique little artwork within Palestinian cinema. Marc Boonen, former artistic director of MOOOV, contextualizes the film in the history of Palestinian cinema. An organization of the library in collaboration with Herentals Mondiaal.
