Annihilation

A biologist joins an expedition to Area X: a zone where nature has reclaimed the land and previous expeditions ended in disappearance, madness, or suicide. She is the only one to return. In quarantine, she is questioned by an anonymous agency trying to figure out what happened. Field diary fragments, interrogations, scientific observations, and flashbacks create a labyrinth in which the boundary between observer and observed blurs. Thomas Ryckewaert Thomas Ryckewaert studied biology and philosophy at KU Leuven and continued his education at the Herman Teirlinck Instituut, where he graduated in 2006. Since then, he has been active as a theater director and works as a freelance actor in theater, television, and film. On stage, he could be seen in productions by, among others, De Tijd, Toneelgroep Amsterdam, Toneelgroep Ceremonia and NTGent.
