SUNDAY OCTOBER 11, 2026 TREKTELLEN BEZINKINGSPUTTEN TIENEN De Tiense Getevallei is known as one of the bird-richest areas of Flanders, certainly regarding the occurrence of rare migrants.  At this time of the year, the autumn migration is in full swing. Every day there are surprises sitting or passing through here: water birds, waders, birds of prey, songbirds, almost everything is possible. There are chances of migrating birds of prey like Rode Wouw, Blauwe Kiekendief of Visarend, waders like Green Sandpiper, Ringed Plover, and Bonte Strandloper. Songbirds like Redwing, Meadow Pipit, Skylark, Woodlark, Zwarte Mees, Hawfinch, Brambling, Siskin, Goldfinch... can pass through in this period. Guide is Michaël Vandeput who has been counting birds here for 23 years and has more than 10,000 ‘bird migration hours’ to his name. Meeting place : at 7:00 am at the water purification of the Citrique Belge in the Ambachtenlaan, Industrial Park ‘Soldatenplein’ Z1 in Tienen.  End around 12:00 pm Info: Philippe Smets E-mail: philippe.smets3@telenet.be GSM 0475 60 55 43
