Summer butterfly walk in the Hageven Event

Summer butterfly walk in the Hageven

Sun, 5 Jul 2026 · 14:00
BC De Wulp Hageven, Pelt
Free
On Sunday, July 5 at 2 PM, butterfly specialist Willy Pardon will take you on a colorful walk through the Hageven. At this time of year, the area is fluttering with life. In sunny butterfly weather, numerous species can be admired. You have a chance to see species such as the speckled wood, the gatekeeper, the map (summer generation), the small white, and the meadow brown – species that often flutter quietly along paths or let themselves be admired for a moment on a flower. In good butterfly weather, many other species are often active, making every walk different and allowing you to discover something new each time. In addition, there is also a chance to see some day-active moths, such as the silver Y, the hummingbird hawk-moth, or the six-spot burnet, which often provide surprising sightings with their fast flight and striking behavior. Along the way, Willy will tell you what to look out for and how these species live in the varied landscape of the Hageven. An ideal activity for those who want to experience nature up close and learn more about our day-flying butterflies!
