The Highlands in Sonian – A new start

De Schotse Hooglanden are precisely as you imagine Scotland. Breathtaking landscapes and the perfect place for your next adventure. But you do not have to travel so far. In parts of the Geografisch Arboretum van Tervuren and adjacent forests we find, admittedly on a smaller scale, comparable landscapes and a magnificent wilderness back. Op de Keienberg a zone will be set up as Brabant heath, a semi-natural landscape grazed by sheep that harbors heather, sphagnum moss and the bilberry and where the Woodcock is a welcome guest. With new management techniques, the managers of the forest are trying to make a fresh start to restore the landscape of the past. Under the guidance of the nature guide, we are going to discover this area and the adjacent forests during a brisk walk. The walk will be interrupted a number of times for hands-on moments. We will then dedicate all our attention to the youngest participants.
