Emma is fifteen years old. After being raped, she becomes pregnant. She defies her repressive Protestant rural community to walk a path of self-determination. She turns her trauma into a catalyst for emancipation, while facing the moral hypocrisy of the village and the specter of Tweede Wereldoorlog around her.
