The castle farm of Zuytpeene, alias the Templar farm, is an exceptional heritage site where centuries of history remain tangibly present in the landscape, buildings, and structures. Behind the seemingly quiet farm lies a rich and complex past, which until today was only known fragmentarily. Our quarterly magazine, which has grown into a book, changes that. Based on new historical research, archaeological findings, and architectural analyses, the history of the castle farm is unlocked in its entirety for the first time. This creates a coherent picture of the site's evolution through the centuries. Thanks to the collaboration between historians, archaeologists, and architects, the past is not only reconstructed but also made visible and understandable. Rare sources, hidden traces, and material remains come together in an accessible and richly illustrated publication. This work not only offers insight into a special place but also invites the reader to look at this heritage gem with new eyes, as a living witness to the region's history. We welcome you with coffee and cake. After the book presentation, the authors and the owner will take you on an exclusive tour of the domain. We conclude this afternoon in a cozy atmosphere with a Trappist van Westvleteren.
