About the performance This month we are not showing a film in our CineWa, but we are bringing the iconic music of ‘Maestro’ Ennio Morricone live on stage, supported by film clips and photos. The special Italian ensemble Le Muse creates a magical atmosphere, conductor Andrea Albertini (a friend of Ennio!) enriches the concert with anecdotes and historical/biographical facts. A must-see for lovers of films and soundtracks. Ennio Morricone is one of the most influential musicians of our time. He composed about 500 soundtracks for major cinema films, including 70 award-winning motion pictures. The Ensemble Le Muse brilliantly performs that musical treasure in an impressive homage to the Italian music legend. Ensemble Le Muse has an all-female orchestral line-up of instrumentalists who earned their stripes with the famous music group Rondò Veneziano. The orchestra is assisted by vocalist Angelica Depaoli, who touches the souls of the audience with her voice and conjures up emotional film moments on the retina. It is an honor to host the ladies of this international ensemble at Internationale Vrouwendag. On the program are numerous famous soundtracks from the impressive oeuvre of Morricone. Naturally ‘The Hateful Eight’, with which he won an Oscar for best original film score in 2016 at the age of 87. Classics from the film repertoire of the Italiaanse Westernicoon Sergio Leone are also not missing, such as ‘For a Few Dollars More’, ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ and the legendary ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’. A beautiful tribute to a great talent, who gave musical inspiration to numerous famous films with his epic soundtracks!
