Meet the Masters in the Park | TAZ26

For the third year in a row, Theater Aan Zee (TAZ) and Filmfestival Oostende (FFO) join forces for Meet the Masters in the Park. On August 3, 5, 6, and 7, we bring four summer evenings full of film, reflection, and inspiration to the idyllic Leopoldpark. Together with film historian Anke Brouwers and TAZ guests Sara De Bosschere, Kris Cuppens, Anke Blondé, and Mira Bryssinck, we dive into the work of some of the most influential filmmakers in film history. In addition to their production at TAZ, they share their personal connection with a director who has helped shape their artistic path. This gives you a unique look into the oeuvre of Luchino Visconti and John Cassavetes to Paul Thomas Anderson and Alejandro G. Iñárritu. We close every evening with an open-air screening of an iconic film by the discussed filmmaker, on a big screen under the stars. Bring a blanket, nestle yourself in the grass, and let yourself be carried away by the power of cinema. Discover the program of TAZ From July 29 to August 8, TAZ will once again settle in Ostend. With ‘Message in a Bottle’, the festival lets the sea speak: about stories that wash ashore, disappear, and reconnect. Discover the work of our Meet the Masters guests. For example, Sara De Bosschere asks fundamental questions about our relationship with the sea with ‘Océanisé-e-s’. Kris Cuppens can be seen in ‘Orde van de dag’ (Order of the Day), a current theater adaptation of the award-winning novel by Éric Vuillard, and Mira Bryssinck brings an intimate performance about sisters and family with ‘Iemands zus’ (Someone's Sister).
