‘SOLO!’ is the new toddler cabaret performance by the duo Thomas van Caeneghem and Lander Severins. You saw them together before in ‘BOTSKOP’, ‘Akke Akke Tuut’, and ‘Stokpaardprins’. This time Thomas is all alone on the boards. Alone with his loneliness and alone with his imagination. Fortunately, he still has his guitar and I believe there is also some kind of weird speaker ready.
Nothing in the hands, nothing in the sleeves as you are used to from them. A text, a bunch of songs, and the heart open and bare on the table tailored to the little ones. Laugh away! Lander and Thomas make, Thomas plays, and Myrthe van Velden (also from cabaret duo Grof Geschud) is involved.
Thomas is alone on a stage.
Nobody wants to play with him.
He has no brother.
He has no sister.
He only has himself, so.
Then just fantasize
about trees, about bears
ladies and gentlemen
about birds without feathers
who learn a magic trick.
Oh, playing SOLO like that is not always nice.
But what is that then? That being lonely?
