Cemetery walk with (grand)parents and children

Sun, 11 Oct 2026 · 14:30
Begraafplaats Diestseveld, Kessel-Lo
Free
Visiting a cemetery seems reserved for mourners or those interested in heritage. But there is also a lot for children to discover in a cemetery. A walk through the Diestseveld park cemetery is an ideal opportunity to reflect on life and death with children and to discover different customs and rituals surrounding death. The unique character of this park cemetery, with its abundance of greenery on one hand, the uniform graves on the other, and the many specific zones (for children, for Muslims, for urns, for pets, etc.) offers many different starting points. This guided walk is free, lasts about 1.5 hours, and is intended for older preschoolers and young primary school children. This walk aims to help children discover a cemetery in an accessible way. For older preschoolers and young primary school children (approximately between 4 & 10 years old), accompanied by at least 1 (grand)parent.
