White splendor

Overfed, the gentlemen and ladies in the sauna continue to make their shady deals, dampen their emotional lives, hide their desires, and avoid each other's eyes. Witte Weelde is an exploration of willful powerlessness, wearing time, disturbed communication between people, and the human striving (and failure) for meaning and connection. A tragedy and comedy at the same time. After ten years of working together for 25 Flemish editions of 'Orde van de Dag', Het NUT and LAZARUS join forces for this theater performance. With as foundations their love for the Russian classics, the humor and tragedy of life, theater as a mirror for the world and society, and how man behaves (or misbehaves) in it. One is not always happy about reality, Witte Weelde brings sobering insights but also discharge and relief.
